Tours for New Users

Not used the Record Office before?

We are aware that visiting a Record Office for the first time can be quite daunting, and we want to show you that it doesn't have to be!
If you are a first time visitor, or have not used our public Searchroom for a while, we can offer an introductory tour of the Searchroom.

What does the tour cover?

We will take you around the Searchroom, showing you how you can find the microfilms, documents or books you need. We can also answer questions you might have about procedures we have in place - and the reasons for them.

When do the tours take place?

At present we are offering the tours at 11.00 am every day. The tours last about 20 minutes.
Whether you can make it to the Record Office or not, please remember that we are here to help you get started at any time.
